Historical Essay
1989 December 1 - Psychological center for children was formed in Leninakan (Gyumri) by MSF France with the aim of organizing psychological posttraumatic support after the devastating earthquake in 1988.
1991 June - The center was taken over by the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Armenia and was known as "Narek" Center of Psychological Service.
2000 June 20 - Armine Gmyur-Karapetyan created "Arevamanuk" Fund.
2005 January 20 - According to the decision of Government of RA "Narek" Psychological center was closed because of economical reasons together with other 3 centers in RA. "Arevamanuk" Fund took liquidated "Narek" 's mission.
2005 June 10 The liquidation of "Narek" center coincided with its best friend, philanthropist, Swiss citizen Leonardo Gmuer's unexpected death. Besides constructional activities in different regions of Armenia Leonardo Gmuer had a special contribution for the development of psychological and social services in Gyumri. The Fund was renamed in honor of, Swiss citizen and philantropist Leonardo Gmuer during the period of "Arevamanuk" 's three- storied new building construction.
Since November 2008 According to the Trustee's Board decision, the Fund provides its services as "Arevamanuk" Family and Child Care Fund.

Mission
To develope humane and democratic approaches in the society responding to adults' and children's mental and psycho-social needs.
Goal
Providing psycho-social and special educational services, in order to strengthen the families, to promote child protection and mental health.
Objectives
  1. Prevention, protection and care of children through multidisciplinary approach.
  2. Organization of psychological counseling and therapy for the children (2-18 years) and their families (individual and group work).
  3. Organization of special educational and speech therapy services.
  4. Promotion of the interventions aimed to protect children’ s rights.
  5. Promotion of mental health through community based services.
